Hi Everyone,

Below my timeline, I have a last question please if you can help with right answers, would be very excellent please !

AOR: 9 Oct 2015
Medical: Passed after like one week from AOR
Annex 4A asked and provided: Nov 2015
IMM 5669 E : Schedule A - Background / Declaration asked and provided: 23 Dec 2015
BG in Progress: 6 Jan 2016
BG not needed at this time: 18 Jan 2016 ; they transfered my file from Ottawa to VO
Call from VO: 8 march 2016: Get call that my visa is ready and I can get it tomorrow
8 march: BG in progress again
9 march: visa stamped and COPR.

Now its all completed: BG, Medical and eligibility, file closed on MYCIC

My question is about landing, is it common for them to ask about money proof at the airport when landing ? if so they ask for cash or you can simply show them your national bank statement showing you have enough money and cards, which means you'll get cash from ATM after.

Please be as specific as possible,
Thank you so much again !

Congratulations!

You may be asked for POF at landing. I wasn't asked for it but that may have been an aberration. If you come across as calm, composed and professional they would let you through without much questioning.

Anything you submitted to IRCC would be acceptable at port of entry. Ensure that the bank statements are recent.

Thank you Asivad, you were alwayere here to answer our questions !
So a national bank statement is also fine, it does not have to be Canadian Bank ?
Thanks !

Need not be a Canadian bank. It worked for IRCC, it will work, if needed, at immigration.

Hey All,

But would this case work,

At the Canadian airport, you bring just proof of your national bank that you have the $ 12K, but still in your home country, and you tell the Officer, that you will transfer these funds in here, or simply use your debit card.

Would this work ?
Plesae and thanks,

BEst,

The location of the funds does not matter (unless you are carrying 10K or more in cash on you!). Simply provide the bank statements. CIC is not going to ask you how you plan to move the funds.

Do we need to have a letter from bank stating that the debit card is an international debit card and we have savings amount equivalent to 12000 CAD ?

I read somewhere that savings bank account statement worth 12000 CAD + letter from bank confirming the fund and atm details will suffice the CIC requirement at airport

not even that. Just the bank statement is enough.

Then move your money into Canada with wire transfer or sth

Or you can take everything out from your home bank and put it in a money order. That's even better. Just declare >$10k to CBSA officer.

What worked for IRCC will work at immigration. Just take recently dated copies of the same documents that you submitted along with your application. If you're carrying more than $10,000 in cash or securities, declare those upfront when landing.
