Got AIP but passport expiring

Hello guys

One of my friend got AIP and already started online class. But his passport expiring on 14 April 2021. He applied for 4 years Bachelor degree.

Now the question is should we renew the passport and submit the new passport to IRCC when passport requests arrive or they will make issues with new passport. Either way if they don't issue visa's by april his passport will expire automatically in April 2021.

What should we do? Should we renew the passport and submit to IRCC when the request the passport or do nothing but submit the passport which we have submitted for visa application?

If anyone in this situations please advise what happened with you.

He should try And renew the passport,he won't be issued permit more than the expiry date in the passport
