Got a job offer while my Work Permit will expire on Feb 17th? What Do I do?

I have recently received a job offer, and accepted. However, my current Open Work Permit will expire on Feb 17th 2013. I already submitted my application for the extension of Open Work Permit. When the employer see the copy of work permit, they have concerns, and may not take me for this position. When I read on CIC website, it said that I am allowed to work as long as I submit my application for work permit extension before the expiry date. I already told this to the employer. What else I can do to convince them?

Provide CIC call center number to them. They can enquire generally how to decide whether or not they can hire a worker like your situation.

Thanks, that is useful. Right now, I explained the whole situation to them, and waiting for their response....
