Hi All.

I posted this in the settlement section as well (but am partial to the family class thread) so apologies on the double posting.

We are planning on returning to Canada in August so my partner can complete his landing. We have both been living in Israel for the last 3 years so both 'qualify' for goods to follow.

The question is this: My sister is visiting us in June (from Canada) and we want to send her back with all our winter clothing and some other stuff. I know you can ship goods before you arrive and they hold them until you get there. How does it work if you are sending goods with someone?

Does anyone have any experience with this? Especially those from the states who may have had someone drive their good across the border?

Please let me know what - if anything we should send back with my sister in the form of paper work.

Thanks

It's possible (depending on the value of what you send back with your sister) that she would have to pay duties on items that she imports. Only re-settling Canadians and new immigrants can bring items (over a certain value) into Canada without paying duty.
