Hi,

In case if any of you have missed it,CIC has just updated the new Citizenship Application Form .It now has a section asking for a consent to request history of entries into Canada from CBSA.

I believe its a good move towards reducing the number of people getting RQs as CBSA records are considered as the most important doc. to prove one s physical presence in Canada ,thus less time will be wasted by CIC staff on these type of cases ................faster processings for all applicants. It might also lessen the hassle for applicants who have to request these records themselves from CBSA .

The new form can be found here:

Thats definitely a good news. Its much better than getting an RQ which pushes the application by atleast 6 months off track.

Thanks for the news.

I don't think this is good news at all. This indicates to me a tendency on CIC's part to get lazy and rely only on what is in the computer to make their decision. However, as I have pointed out numerous times in the past, the border records are often incomplete. In my case, I have crossed the border numerous times on day trips and have not had my PR card scanned or, some times, not even been asked to produce identification. The computer is not always right.

This tendency puts me in a very precarious position. Not good.
