Thanks for your reply. My husband was denied the 1st time, yes, because of his criminality which was already expired 10 years ago. the problem was he didn't serve the sentence since he committed those offense more than 10 years ago it became expired/discharged and doesn't show on his police record anymore. But since Canada doesnt have a law about not serving your sentence they denied him. We won the appeal through Humanitarian & compassionate grounds. Now, it's back at Vienna visa office & so far no updates.
I am thinking of sending an inquiry via email this week. I don't know, they are so meticulous. too much! I've read from another forum at the Australia border that Australian immigration even laugh about a person trying to cross the border with a traffic offense. For them, only those hard killers/terrorist pose a redflag to them not a offense from stealing candy from a store.
I do hope that the next time you hear from Vienna it will be passport request. Good luck to us all!
