Good news...Finally!!

Thanks for your reply. My husband was denied the 1st time, yes, because of his criminality which was already expired 10 years ago. the problem was he didn't serve the sentence since he committed those offense more than 10 years ago it became expired/discharged and doesn't show on his police record anymore. But since Canada doesnt have a law about not serving your sentence they denied him. We won the appeal through Humanitarian & compassionate grounds. Now, it's back at Vienna visa office & so far no updates.

I am thinking of sending an inquiry via email this week. I don't know, they are so meticulous. too much! I've read from another forum at the Australia border that Australian immigration even laugh about a person trying to cross the border with a traffic offense. For them, only those hard killers/terrorist pose a redflag to them not a offense from stealing candy from a store.

I do hope that the next time you hear from Vienna it will be passport request. Good luck to us all!

After waiting for almost 3 years we finally got some good news today! CIC requested new medicals and the stupid background checks are DONE!!! I can't believe that it's almost over We'll be reunited in a couple of months...so unreal ...

Thanks for the support. Yes, my husband did get his new police clearance and new medicals. He did the meds and he sent the police clearance to the Embassy on June 30th. I emailed the embassy last week to see if there are any updates and they replied that they rec'd the docs and that they are just waiting for the assessment of the medical results. As soon as that's done they will be in touch with us. So we are expecting to hear from them sooooon Good luck to you

That's good news, at least it's moving. They asked for a new police clearance for my husband too via email on 07/28/2011. We already sent the new one last week. the 2nd medical redo we already did it on April 2011 so they just show on my e-cas last month that they received the 2nd one. Anyway, since we have the same visa office, do you already pay the RPRF? also, Is it true that Vienna do accept drop off passport in the morning & pick up passport with visa in the afternoon? Good luck to you & hopefully soon they will ask for PPR next. keep us updated!

Yes, we paid the PRPF as soon as they asked for new meds and police clearance. We don't want to waste additional time waiting for them to request it. The PRPF was paid beginning of July and Mississauga sent it to Vienna on the 14th so they have it already.
I do think that you can get your visa on the same day. A girl I was in touch with just got her visa and she went to Vienna and got it the same day.

the payment is done at cic mississauga.
u can go on line and pay under fees and submit your receipt to cic mississauga, then they send it to Vienna
the instructions are on the cic website

Hey Turquoise, I was wondering if you went to Vienna to get your Visa (if you got it that is, i hopee) did you end up picking it up in person? What did your PPR say if you dont mind me asking? I got mine the other day and it said they have same day service so I was trying to find someone who went, please tell me you went haha..
