GOING IN PERSON TO INTERVIEW WITH EMPLOYERS

Since I am from a visa free country and already have an ETA, I am thinking of going as a visitor to Canada and trying out interviews with employers in the Atlantic region. Since a LMIA is not needed there, it might be easier to convince employers to apply for sponsorship with the intention of applying for a temporary work permit while the process is pending.

Is this a good idea? Would the chances be better in person there? Any idea will be appreciated.

Sure you can try anything but employers still might not be keen to sponsor anyone under the Atlantic pilot unless you have skills not readily available in the Atlantic region.Simply arriving and going door to door you might be lucky might not , getting through the door will still be a challenge for a non resident. Not so sure about any temporary work permit under the pilot so others can comment on that.

You might still need to focus on a specific destination/province unless you have months to spare and are mobile.

Travelling as a visitor not advisable to state this to CBSA as your primary reason for visiting the country, in fact best not state at all.

Was wondering what the Red Seal criteria is these days. Is it open to people without a PR? In this forum there was a discussion where someone said that it was open to applicants with a PR only except in Manitoba or something.

1. PR status is not required for challenging the Red Seal Exam.

I contacted the department and it was confirmed that a PR status is not required for red seal. Thanks PMM.

However when I fill in the express entry form and in the question if I had a qualification certificate from a province or territory in Canada, I fill yes, it says that I am eligible to apply for express entry.

But when I enter that into the six selection factors for express entry, it doesn't make up to 67 points. Why is this?

Also getting a qualification from the province doesn't seem to help in increasing my CSR score. Are there no points for this?

Any light on this? Please help
