I tried to search this topic and had no luck. Hope it has not been asked before.
I have read on the CIC website that foreign students may sponsor their spouse and the spouse can be granted a open work permit for the duration of their study in Canada.
I am a Canadian citizen living in Japan and am married to a Malaysian national (who has PR in Japan). If I were to go back to grad school in Canada would I be able to bring my wife and would she be granted an open work permit the same as if I was a foreign student in Canada?
We are considering applying for her to get PR in Canada but are not decided yet.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
