Has your son met the income requirement for at least 3 years (1 in Quebec) and has he been selected in the lottery for the parent and grandparent PR program? The test that she will need to have done is A1C which shows her average glucose level over 3 months. Is she actually a diabetic? Does she need insulin? If she needs insulin that will likely be a problem. Does she take medication in pill form? Diet and exercise makes a huge difference so she should be following a diabetic diet and getting more active. The medical will also look for damage caused by her uncontrolled glucose like kidney damage, vascular damage, nerve damage, etc. Diabetes doesn't exclude someone for PR.

Thanks for your reply....
My son and daughter in law both are living in Oakville, Toronto. Both are working and met the income requirements.
They applied themselves for our PR in regular course.
My wife is diabetic since long and on oral medicines. She is not taking insulin. In her last test Hba1c is 7.2 (Good control).
Very active. Minimum 60 mintues yoga and 60 minutes walk daily.
All other tests are ok..

Yes she will likely be approved although she needs to aim for 4-7. Not sure what you mean by regular course but seems like they must have applied for the parent and grandparent program and been selected because that is the only program you qualify for.
