Hey guys,
I have a few questions because I'm extremely nervous about this second visit in the first one was kind of bumpy.
December 2009 my girlfriend of 3 years came up to visit for 6 months, she never previously visited another country, and just got her passport. In hindsight I can't believe they really did accept her last time since all she really had as a return flight ticket to show.
Though in this particular situation she was brought into an interview room and was questioned about her stay for a good 20-30min before they finally allowed her to stay and roughed her up a little emotionally. Though the boarder guard did challenge her on when she was going to leave by putting the day after her flight ticket stated as her return date, she did leave on time without any issues.
Once again my girlfriend is going to request for a 6 month stay, we have a return flight setup within that period and proof to show this to the boarder. Though I'm still a bit nervous of this whole thing since the last time I nearly thought she was being shipped right back home on a plane.
But anyway here's some of my questions:
Does it at all benefit her with the situation of this second visit? A part of me wants to say they did all the questioning and challenging the first time because she never had visited another country and suddenly wanted to stay for 6 months out of the blue. Are they able to see previous stays and if she left the country on time? If this is the case would this help her out? Also the fact that she hasn't constantly left and came back and her last visit was well over a year ago I hope has some benefit for us?
The one issue is I don't know what she can say regarding employment as she was laid off of her previous job about a month ago, she is looking into going back to school but that isn't quite arranged at the current time. I'm capable of easily supporting her on my pay and providing all the necessities during her stay. Are there any things we could write up, or provide to a boarder guard when she is interviewed, and if so what would they be?
I'll also say I know that it's all really dependent on who you are interviewed by, etc. But any information to make our chances better at least puts more ease on us.
Thanks for any responses.
