Gift Deed or Affidavit

Hello ,

Can anybody suggest difference between gift deed or Affidavit ? Both are on stamp paper i guess?

Affidavit is a written statement confirmed by oath or affirmation (you say my name is X on a plain paper and get it stamped and signed by an oath commissioner for example)

Gift deed is a declaration that person A has gifted something to person B.

In other words, you can also draft a gift deed on an affidavit.

Hi, I'm in the exact same position. From what I've read on forum during the uploading of documents you don't have to scan the backside of the photo. That requirement comes after the PPR.

What stage are you at?

Hello Sam,

CIC has mentioned in guidelines for backside of digital photos thats why i am confused.
I am in process of submitting application after ITA. Have you hired any consultant or doing yourself?

No need. only facial photos required for eAPR,

So from other threads what I read is that both affidavit and gift deed needs to be provided. Both has to be notarized and in stamp paper. In gift deed, donor and receiver both sign, while in affidavit of gift declaration, donor only states his donation. Still confused. Can I have one document only in stamp paper which will be notarized where all these information is given(A gives B, both signs)

It is not like that. An affidavit or Gift deed (one of two) is enough.

You can get the gift deed notarized. And as for whether donor & receiver both sign it depends on how gift deeds are written in your country. For my gift deed, only the donor & witness signed.
