Hello everyone,

So the thing is that I'm planning to study in Canada. I understand that I have to show the funds for at least the first year of tuition + living expenses to satisfy the proof of financial capacity requirement. Can I show the cash satisfying the first year funds in the form of gift deed to my account from my uncle. I know it should preferably come from blood relatives but if one has no choice, do you think it would be a satisfactory situation for the immigration officials?

Also, the university is in Quebec so I'm assuming that the CAQ has the same proof of funds requirement as the federal study permit.

Can you uncle get $10K GIC from scotia bank for you? Are you are only using your uncle to show he has funds to help you and not actually supporting you?

Yeah the gift deed would be without the declaration of support. Im not aware of the scotiabank way but that sounds a bit cumbersome.
