Hi all,

Could anyone tell me if my uncle who stays in Canada, deposit the amount for my GIC directly? Because my consultant said that this could be done (also transfer money through forex) although its mentioned in the terms sheet of Scotia bank that if these were the cases, it will be rejected. Please advise. Thank you for any help.

Nope. They won't even consider the transfer. It'll get rejected as soon as Scotiabank finds that the name doesn't match. It has to go from an account in India which is in your name to a Scotiabank account in Canada which is also in your name. There shouldn't be even a single alphabet difference between both. I got mine rejected one because of an alphabet mismatch.
