GIC account. How long it takes to open a GIC account

Can anybody help me how long does it tales to open a GIC account. Its been 10 days now .

Hi there,

If you make an appointment to see your banking representative, then I think it should be right away. They do some credit checks etc which could take some time. If in doubt, always ring your bank and ask what the hold up is? This is all the information I have so far.

Hi Guys,

I want to wire the GIC funds with a different account (Not the one I mentioned in Scotia Bank application form) since its been inactive fr some reason.

What is the procedure if i want to transfer the funds from a different account (My own bank account)? Do i need to update the bank details with the Scotia Bank or i just can proceed with the Wire transfer ?

Please Help.

Call scotia bank and tell them you are going to send the form again with updated details, then you can wire transfer.

Hi I am deposited GIC amount on 6/11/17.I got swift copy on that day itself balance redused in my account but still now I didn't got the payment receipt when I will get it.
