My girlfriend is from Russia and her work permit is expiring. She has been here three years but the conditions for her renewal have changed because her base salary is not high enough for her to qualify. It's a new rule since the downturn of the economy. She has applied for permanent residence earlier this year and is part way through the process. we want her to stay in canada until it gets done. Can she stay on a visitor's visa? extension? if so what is the fastest way to do it. Her company wants to avoid the headache and transfer to a less than desirable place in the US. Her work permit expires nov 21 2009. and her passport expires in april. Please help. Running out of time fast.
