Getting New Work Permit - Need urgent advice

Hi All,

I got an offer letter from a company and they are asking me to get my Work permit done on my own. So far, my previous companies have filed a work permit for me. I want to know how to proceed?

Following is my current status:
1) Old Work Permit has expired and was Closed Work permit tied to a specific employer.
2) Currently on implied Status as I applied for a TRV (Temp Resident visa ) so as to continue my stay in Canada until I get a job.

Work PermitLMIA/ LMIA-exempt)
1)If I have to file a LMIA work permit , what do I need to ask my company to provide?
2) My earlier company had an LMIA-exempt Work permit for me. If I go for LMIA exempt work permit , will my company need to prove this or I can just tick LMIA exempt in the form. There is some CAD 230 compliance fee. Do I pay that on behalf of my company. How long might it take to get the work permit?

I presume you are applying through AIPP...if so, the company will submit documents to the province on your behalf. You will then wait to get endorsed. You will need to have the HR manager tick on the form that you need a work permit while you wait on PR. The company will have to use a portal to pay that compliance fee.

Thank you . I am a CEC applicant. So how could I proceed now?
