Hi everyone!
My boyfriend has all of his documents ready for his NAFTA visa (he is American, entering Canada for a graphic design position), but he wants to be cautious about doing everything right.
His job is set to start at the end of March. We live in Chicago now and he will be moving to Vancouver, so he's going to have to fly there.
Detroit is only a six hour drive away and there is a border there, so would he be allowed to go to that POE and make sure he gets his TN visa in advance and then stay in the United States until he leaves a couple of days before his job is set to start? That way he could make sure he has all of his documentation correct before he gets on a flight and gets stranded in the airport and forced to turn around.
I called CIC and they didn't really seem to have an answer for me.
