Hi I have a few questions for the experts here and I hope I am posting in the right place.

I am a born and raised Canadian from vancouver, british columbia and I am currently in a relationship with a girl from mexico. We have been dating for a year now and she is wanting to get her workers visa to come to Canada so we can live together and she can work for a year, and then look into studying here as well the year after. She has already gotten her visitor visa for a 3 year period which started in August 2014. With that she also had her study permit for 6 months as she was here from august to december studying english at a language college. So I am just curious if any of those details can help her be approved for a working visa any easier? Also will us being in a relationship for over a year, us planning to live together, and me being a full canadian citizen have any impact on her being approved? And what steps can/must we take to apply for her workers visa? Any information/advice you guys have would be great thank you!

In order to qualify for a work permit, your girlfriend will first have to find an employer in Canada who is willing to offer her a full time job and is also able to obtain an approved LMIA. Once she has the job offer and approved LMIA, she will be able to apply for a closed work permit tied to that specific employer.

Ok thank you. Is there anyway she can obtain the working permit without first having to find an employer? Is it at all possible for her to get a working permit first, then come to canada and find work once she's been approved? Or is there no option at all for that scenario? thanks!

No. She can't get a work permit first. The basis to apply for a work permit per Canadian law is to get the privilege to accept a job offer. Work permits are not issued simply based on intent to work. Offer must be on the table

If she comes to Canada on a study permit (it would need to be full time studies that are a minimum of 8 months in length - and at an authorized school) then she would qualify for a Post Graduate Work Permit after she completes her studies. Note that studying English at a language college doesn't qualify. She would need to take a diploma or degree at a recognized college or university.
