Hi everyone,

I'm about to tie the knot with my fiancée! We applied for Permanent Residence as common-law partners.
I know we'll have to send the paperwork to IRCC. But would that be a problem for our application?

I appreciate any help from people who went through this and people who know the law.

There will be no issue.
Get married, get the marriage certificate and raise a webform to IRCC telling them that the status is changed from common law to spouse.

Thanks for confirming that. I'll update my application then if my COPR doesn't come first.
