What is the legal process of marrying Canadian citizen in Canada?

What is the legAl backslash of overstay In Canada?

After I get married should i file for PR. We have been together since 2013. Should I do the filing in my home country ... Could I reapply for the Canadian visa then get married.. so i can see my finance (should I get married before my visa expires or after I renew the visa)

Solution: I'm going to visit him in Canada in August for a month then in December. Come back to my home country and apply for the TRV . Should I write that I am single on the application.. I didn't make mention of him on the first application. When i get back the visa. I will travel again and then marry him. I will return to my home country and he will start the process... I can travel on the visiting visa as long I return.. so It wont affect the process...

You can remain in Canada as a visitor and still apply from your home country to take advantage of quicker processing. You cannot apply for sponsorship until you are married or have lived together for a period of 12 consecutive months.

I don't think it matters, but I do believe a temporary resident visa is more likely to be rejected if you are married to someone in Canada, since that solidifies your ties to Canada and weakens ties to your home country.

If you can get married and submit the sponsorship paperwork before your status expires, then renewing your status will be much easier, and may even be unnecessary since you would have "implied status," but I'm not sure that applies to Outland applications.

You could call CIC and ask these questions as well.

Once you are married, I wouldn't wait at all, especially if you have been together for 3+ years already.

Yes, as long as you are single and have not lived with with him for more that 12-months (as that would form a conjugal/common-law relationship) then you are single and should represent that on the form.
