Getting married in US then immigrating to Canada?

My Canadian boyfriend and I would like to be married in Las Vegas, and then eventually I will immigrate to Canada on an outland application.

My question is that do we need to apply for a US K-1 visa in order for us to get married in Vegas, since we are not establishing PR for him in the US? Can he just come on a vistor visa and marry me?

Is there a similar type visa if I go to Canada and marry him? Or can I just go on a visitor visa and marry him?

I am Canadian and married my American husband in Buffalo.
We did not need any sort of visa. I just drove across the border and we applied for our marriage licence in NY state two days before our wedding. I even told the border guard I was going down to get married. Just make sure you have all the IDs required for a marriage licence and you should be fine. I'm pretty sure it's the same in Canada, too.
