Hi guys,
Me and My Fiance are getting married this November in Canada. She's Canadian, I'm British. What is going to be the best course of action for us to take so we can start our married life off together the quickest possible? We can't bare to be apart. We don't want to be seperated until the PR comes though as we want to start a family.

I fly back to the UK at the end of November, Can I apply for PR through London once I am back and still apply for the IEC visa when they are released this year? Or do I have to sit it out while the PR comes though?
If I was to apply for the IEC, could I apply for PR outland while living there on the IEC within that 1 year?

Any help you guys can give would be amazing.
This whole thing is a total mine-field and stress and emotion is running at an all time high right now.

Thanks
Andy

Your lucky because your visa exempt....so one of you go to the others country, or spring for plane tickets every other week or something...fact is, you still have the option so see each other.

Before getting married, do some research on the best course of action....but remember there are many of us that have to bear moths apart

Ok the IEC Visa is hard to obtain and at the moment is shut until 2013 (no exact date when it will start again). I assume that these Visa's also take a relative period of time to be accepted.

I am also from Britain and applying for PR through the Spousal programme. You can apply for spousal sponsorship as soon as you are married and can apply outland or inland.

(i) Outland you can apply even whilst residing in Canada on a TRV. You have right of appeal and freedom to travel in and out of Canada and processing times are significantly quicker ( 6-12 months)
(ii) Inland you can apply whilst residing in Canada but if application is refused you have no right of appeal, you are advised not to travel outside Canada in all the time processing is ongoing. Wait times are substantially longer (12-18 months)

Not sure if CIC like people to be applying for 2 different visa's at the same time but sure somebody can clarify that point a little further.

If I was to apply for the IEC, could I apply for PR outland while living there on the IEC within that 1 year? You cannot apply for IEC as mentioned above until 2013 at the earliest (even then no definitive date given) and I am guessing that visa is like hot cookies lol. If you could get an IEC then yes you could apply outland whilst living in Canada.

1 thing to be very very careful of if "waiting it out" in Canada is you have no rights to medical care, which to me is a huge reason why I am waiting in England and not waiting it out in Canada. If anything happened I would be in deep trouble.

Good luck with your app :D
