Hello,
I am just amassing a list of everything I need to submit for declaration of common law partnership, obviously one of the strongest pieces of evidence available is a joint lease, however my partner and I rented month to month for the first 11 months of our time living together, after that we moved from that property in Toronto to relocate to Vancouver.
After doing some scanning of previous posts on this forum it seems that a letter from the landlord stating the time we lived in the property together will suffice, however it seems that it gets rejected as sufficient evidence unless its notarized.
Would I have to ask my previous landlord to write and go and get the letter notarized himself and then mail it to me? Does the notarization process have to be done by the author? If my parents and my partners parents wrote letters, would they have to get their letters notarized in their respective countries (UK & USA) or would I be able to notarize them in Canada?
Thanks so much! Feeling a bit lost as to how to supply notarized evidence without having any of the authors anywhere near close to us.
