I live in the US. I have Work Permit / legal status in the US but no Visa.
I have to go back to the US to finish business.
I am thinking of applying for a US visa in Canada through the US Consulate.
I have the following questions. Appreciate if someone could answer;

1) Is it faster to stamp my US Visa in Canada or in the native country?
2) How long does stamping take in Canada for citizens of other countries (because I read sometimes the US consulate sends the file to the applicant's country of citizenship for information)

Thanks!

Check out the US visa wait times for any US visa office at

http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/wait/tempvisitors_wait.php

and then make a decision. Remember waiting times for visitor visa applications in all US consulates in Canada tend to be longer than most places.

skywards, Thanks!
I have H1B work status in the US and I hear they give the Visa the very next day (at least a year ago they were). Anyway I have no other choice but to get a visa in Canada.
