Getting a Temp work visa while having an active PR application

Hi all,

I have a permanent residency application underway applying from outside of Canada. Can I enter Canada on a Temporary work visa?
I do not have the visa yet but can get it as an employer I previously worked for has an LMO and job offer for me. On the CIC website it says that I will need to prove to the immigration officer that I will leave Canada when the visa expires which I will do if I need to and then I can re-enter Canada once the PR application is approved. Can anyone shed light on whether immigration will grant me a visa if I have PR application underway?

That is fine. This is called dual intent i.e. applying for a work permit while your PR application is already in process. You just have to land again as a PR once your case is approved. That does not necessarily mean flying out of Canada.
