Getting a job offer for FSW1 applicant - guesses!!

Hi,

I have a total experience of 7 years working for the Indian State Government as Electrical Engineer, and have a bachelor of engineering degree from a reputed institution.
Currently I have a CRS of 414 (assuming the best scores in IELTS, which is scheduled). If I could get a job offer, my CRS would plummet to 614 (add 200).

However, are job offers easy to get? For instance, for people with the type of job and experience that I possess?

Thanks!!

No. It is not easy to get a job remotely in Canada if you are FSW outland. They usually prefer local candidates so that it is easier for them to conduct interviews and the whole process.

Please work on improving your score and do whatever you can within your control to achieve the highest CRS score. Dont have high hopes for a job offer or a PNP especially if you are outland.

CRS 414 is the highest I can go.

Wouldn't the Job Pool help? Has no potential employer ever contacted an out-land FSW1 for a job offer?

I am yet to find one person who has managed to get a job from the job bank.

Is that true? Because, if it is, I might want to cancel my IELTS exam. It's useless to pursue any longer.

Dont give up hope. This time last year, the CRS dropping below 450 was unthinkable. Nobody can predict the trend.

Well, if CRS of 414 can get an ITA and a PR, Canada would have to create not just new jobs but new space to accommodate all. Every Tom, Dick and Harry would become eligible that way.

This category usually goes the PNP route.

As I said this time last year, someone having a CRS of 450 and below had to wait for a draw or get a PNP. This year, 400 can be the new 450. With the current trend, there is hope for people who couldnt dream of an ITA last year. Hopefully, the trend will continue until the PNP guys get bumped with their 600 additional points.

I was trying the CRS calculator on this website, and was a little puzzled about my Academics. Which one am I to choose?

  • Three-year or more post-secondary credentials
  • Two or more post-secondary credentials with at least one being 3+ years

I have a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (India). The course lasted for 4 years after my senior-secondary (Class XII) qualification.
Also, are you implying PNP is easier to get compared to Job Offer?
Thanks!

Get an ECA done and enter your scores based on what is on the ECA report. WES tends to discriminate between degrees completed from Asian universities as compared to European / American ones. You need to understand that Canadian bachelors degree is 4 years after 12. Indian bachelors degrees are 12 + 3. Therefore, many Indian applicants who do masters degrees (12+3+2) often get evaluated as 2 or more degrees as their masters is evaluated as a Canadian post grad diploma. In most cases, WES will evaluate your engineering degree as a bachelors degree.

For an outland applicant, getting a PNP is as tough / easy as getting a LMIA job. Earlier a job offer also offered 600 points but from November it offers 50/200 points. PNP really depends on your NOC. Some occupations are in demand while other are not.
