Hi,
I currently work under an LMIA work permit (NOC 2173) which is valid until End of February 2017.
My spouse is here under a work and travel work permit which runs out in Mid September this year (when I applied for the LMIA she was not part of the LMIA application).
On September 1st we will be living together for one year (joint lease signed).
So the plan was (and I was told this should/would work):
On September 2nd we go to a notary and get the Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union (IMM 5409) and with this we go to the border and get her as a spouse on my work permit.
Is this correct? Would we need to apply for her work permit beforehand?
Thanks a lot for your help
