Hi, my dad is sponsoring me as a Dependent Child and I'm from Manila. I received my Passport Request last Friday (October 1, 2010) and I did send my passport personally at the Visa Office (RCBC Plaza- Basement 4 to be specific). A friend of my dad who is working on my papers already have the CSQ but haven't mailed it yet because it has to be signed by my sponsor (dad) but he is far from home right now. He'll be home at the 15th. I was wondering if they will still give me my visa even if the CSQ has not been forwarded yet here in Canadian Embassy Manila? Or they're gonna wait for the CSQ before they proceed? I really need some answers coz' I'm a little confused. I don't know if I'm gonna focus on waiting for the visa or waiting for the CSQ first. Many thanks!!! :)

the CSQ is yours to hold onto for when you arrive and need to sign up for health insurance and other PROVINCIAL things. CIC already knows you've received your CSQ because MICC tells them. Trust me, you wouldn't be getting your PPR if CIC was missing your CSQ! (enough acronyms for you? ha!)

Thanks plumosa! But just to be clear, what I mean is that the Undertaking application was not approved yet coz' they can't mail it until it's signed by my sponsor. I'm sorry I think I got confused between the real CSQ (approved) and the Application For Selection Certificate - Family Class. In short, they haven't mailed it back yet to the MICC. They say that it will take 20days of processing after the MICC received it. What I just concern is if that's the case is there a possibility that the Visa Office here in Manila would give me a visa even the MICC haven't made a decision yet? Thanks a lot! I appreciate your answer! :)

ahhh, Manila is one of those offices that requests the passport right away isn't it? In that case, yes you'll still have to send all your info to MICC, but they'll be the ones the forward things on to Manila, not you. Its supposed to be done in 20 business days, which equals a month. There is no possible way that you will get your visa without MICC giving its approval unless your sponsor's address is not in Quebec.
