Get a permanent resident

Hi

My husband is on study permit he is studing ESL and have an aceptance letter to study Veterynary technician which start in september 2011. I am locking for a job, I am Materials Engineer with only 4 months of experience in this area. We would like to get the Permanent Resident soon. What are the options for us?

My current status is visitor, accompaning my husband, the student. We arrived to Canada en january 6, 2011. Only we applied for extension of our family status and for my work permit, no yet for PR

Because you are a visitor you wont get a job, you have to apply for work permit.
The only way you can get permanent resident is through http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp
Unfortunately you cant get in soon you gotta wait the line

If your husband has a study visa, as his wife you should be able to get an OWP, valid for the duration of the study visa.

Neither of you sound like you are eligible for PR status but without further information, I cannot say for sure.

Getting PR, is a very, very long process (think between 2 and 10 years, depending on your circumstances)

I applied all ready for my work permit, I wait the answer for easter. And now, what are the steps that I should to follow? Should I to get the employ before try to applie for PR?

Under what "stream" are you planning to apply for permanent residency? You can't apply for PR just because you have an OWP; you must qualify under one of the following:
