Hello!

I'm struggling to find the right informations about the topic "immigrating as a foreign nurse to canada", so I thought I'd create a post myself :)

Im a german Nurse, currently 23 years old, working full-time since a year and I always had the thought of ultimately moving to Canada to live and work there.

I tried finding the requirements to immigrate and actually be able to apply for a job, but all the different sites and posts are a bit confusing - so im hoping to find someone who's willing to tell me what exactly I need to do to gain a working visa for canada and successfully apply for a job in a hospital.
There are multiple lists of each province all having a different requirement on what to provide and do to actually gain a permit..
I'm super interested in Vancouver in British Columbia.

A little bit about me:
I've finished my official nursing exam in August 2022 and since then im working full-time in a local hospital in my hometown.
I'm working as a surgical nurse in our surgical ward.
Back in the day, I did a Work & Travel in Canada for approximately half a year, where I was able to experience and learn alot about the country and the people!

Excited what kind of response I get here!

Greetings,

Alex

I think you need to start by researching what it will take to be certified to work as a nurse in Canada. Start reading here: https://www.nnas.ca/#:~:text=If you are an Internationally,Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN).

If you can get registered to work in Canada as a nurse, then you can look for a job offer and potentially come to Canada on a Young Professional work permit (I assume what you used earlier was a Working Holiday Visa).

Thanks for the reply, that site really helps!
