Generic application form for Canada

I am sponsoring my wife and she is back home and we have no kids. while filling up the application I am getting so confused ,please someone guide me as this business is so strange to me. who has to fill up this application ,me or my wife. on question number 3 its asking me how many of us included in this application ,that means me and my wife ,2 persons but it does not validate when I m done filling up the application,it says the number you entered does not match the number of persons included in this application. does this mean I have to fill up the dependant application too or what

please someone help me with this

As you are sponsoring your wife, she -The principal applicant - is the one who completes the Generic form IMM0008.
You are the sponsor and need not be included as family member for immigration because you are already a citizen or PR.

You can fill up the application on her behalf, but should be signed by her.
