Gathering Information to apply

Dear all,

I am on the process of gathering data, in applying an immigrant to Canada. My delimma is, i want to apply as an Independent Immigrant and want to land directly to Edmunton alberta. Do you think this is possible?, since im not qualified for PNP route, i dont have JOb offer. and another thing, there is no Independent Immigrant forms in the cic web site, is it same as skilled immigrant? i am confused.. i just known this category (independent route) tru my friend in Edmonton, she told me to apply tru Independent route, by the way, i am an civil engineer with 15 years working experinece in this field, currently working here in trinidad & tobago for almost 2 years, and a philippine national.., Please help me to decide what is best...........Any input is highly appreciated.... thanks guys more power..

1. Look under skilled worker. Take the assessment on www.cic.gc.ca to see if you qualify. Without a job offer you are looking at years before your application will even be looked at.
