Gathering information for couple wanting to come to Canada from Italy wo sponsor

Hi Guys,

I have been asked by an Italian couple how they would begin their path for coming to Canada. They will not be sponsored by anyone, and he may be able to get a work contract from a construction company in toronto, but basically they want to go it alone. Where do they start, where are the forms??

Can anyone help us??

They have two options, try to get a work permit and find a way to immigrate later or try to immigrate now. With a job offer, it is possible to apply under some immigration classes. They could look into if they qualify for this new class called skilled trades: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/trades/index.asp

With a work permit, the employer has to apply for a labour market opinion from Service Canada and when they get it, they can use it to apply for work permits. As long as the husbands job is skilled, that is he is a tradesman and not a simple helper, the spouse can get an open work permit based on his permit.
