Gap issue

hi,
i am internation student here in canada and i just want to know that if i cancle the admission of janaury intake after coming to the canada and take the admission in march , will it be count as any gap or will it effect my study visa ? both janaury and march programs are 2 year programs and i don't want to break any law

i am confused so please help me to sort out this problem
