Gap between passport validation

Hi
I am going to apply for citizenship but I have a validaty gap in my passport my passport expired in January 2017 and I renewed it in May 2017 so there is 5 months gap please advise me what should I do is this will be a big problem? And please advise how can I explain this gap please some seniors advise like Leon

Don’t need to worry, on the application form there is a section that you can write the reason ... that’s it
