Hi all,

In my TRV application I wrote a certain amount that I would take to Canada for my 12 days visit. I will be staying with my relatives so don't have food, travel and accomodation costs apart from airfare.

Would the border control at the Canada airport ask me if a take a few hundred dollars less than I said I would?

How much should I ideally have to take?

Hi,

You may/may not be asked about the funds you are carrying with you. It's not necessary to bring the same amount of funds which you had mentioned in your TRV application. However, do carry a reasonable amount for any meals/travel/shopping/incidentals.

Ensure that you do not carry a large amount (CAD 10,000+) because then you must declare it to CBSA.

You can bring credit cards (plus some reasonable amount of cash).... if you're not sure how much you will need

Cheers
