Funds available for extended stay in Canada

Hi There!!
I am completing my visitor extension application and I am not quite sure what to put down for "Funds avail for my stay". I have been in Canada since April 2014, originally I had money in a bank account from the US, but now it has been depleted. My PR application is in process in Ottawa currently. My Common Law partner is sponsoring me and he is financially responsible for me and I am also on his bank account.
I don't have a set amount saved while I have been here, so what amount should I put down? The last time I filed for an extension I put $2000US, but I had my bank account statement to show them. Should I just put down $2000CAD and then send copies of our bank account statements?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am not worried of being denied, but just not sure what amount to put down and I can't leave it blank.

You can do that. Also there is an "explanation letter", you can explain there why the account is not under your name but you are submitting.

Can I put zero amount and then write up an explanation? Or would putting a zero be a bad thing? I just don't have a set amount to live on while I am here.

Don't put zero. Put your sponsor's income and include copies of his payslips.

Okay, Thanks canuck_in_uk!! Do you mean to put his monthly or yearly income? How many pay slips? I was going to include his Option C print out as well.

If you are asking for 6 months, put 6 months income. Include a few of his recent payslips.

I submitted my application for extension yesterday and just received a message that it was approved. ONE DAY!!
I ended up putting one year of income down for funds available.

Whoops!! I was very wrong!! My application is OPEN and being worked on. I clicked on an old one and saw approved. My bad!!
