Hello. So I would be travelling to a different province initially. My uni is in Calgary and I would be travelling to Ottawa for a week and I am fully vaccinated. I will first land in Montreal where all the immigration tasks would take place. So I had a few questions regarding that
i) Would I face any trouble that I am going to a different province initially? I am fully vaccinated and will travel 15 days after my 2nd dose
ii)Do I have to show a ticket to Calgary to the officer? I plan to cut a ticket once I reach Ottawa but I feel like the immigration officer may ask for one.
iii) Do I have to take a covid test upon arrival in Canada?
iv) Will i be able to leave the airport if the connecting flight is longer? (Might be a silly question but I just need some answers)

Your best bet will be to land in Calgary.
You will have to explain a lot if you land in Montreal, as of now.

i) While your Montreal -> Ottawa -> Calgary plan is within the regulations, there are news reports about Montreal making if difficult for people with far off final point of destinations landing there.

ii) You will need a ticket to be shown at Montreal. And justify your plan.

iii) No, unless you are selected at random.

iv) Please check with your airline. If you are crossing immigration at Montreal, you may be able to leave the airport.

1. I don't think it matters cos you are vaccinated. I don't think they stress people that are vaccinated much from what I read on online groups.
Myself and my family are not vaccinated but no one asked us about where we are going after we passed immigration at Toronto. I never even had to produce my quarantine proof (apartment lease).

2.No one requested to see my tickets until I went to re-check in my luggages on my onward flight to final destination.

3. Only if you are randomly selected, so not likely. The lines for those that need to be tested (non-vaccinated) are long enough as it is. But be prepared just in case.

4. Not sure about this. I guess you can cos once you cross immigration, you can simply walk out of the airport, unless you want to go to the domestic wing to board another flight.

Thank you for this lol, I was worried since direct flights from India aren't running yet. I'm travelling to Toronto via indirect flight while my university is in Montreal. I am fully vaccinated, and I'll probably stay for a day or two at my cousin's home in Toronto. I was worried about this very thing after reading it yesterday lol. But I'm better now reading your reply.

So thank you again :)
