Hello all,
My name on my passport is written as "N1 N2 N3 N4", were N1 is my first name, N2 is my father's name, N3 is my grandfather's name, and N4 is my father's grandfather's name. This is the naming convention we use in my country, Egypt. We don't really have the Western naming convention that only uses a first name and a last name (and an optional middle name that can even be a relative's name and not necessarily an ancestor's).
However, I would like to identify myself, if I am gonna make it to Canada as:
First Name: N1
Family Name: N4
.. And I will skip N2 and N3 altogether.
Knowing this, what names do you suggest me to put in my PR application under the Given Name(s) and Family Name(s) fields? Would CIC acknowledge this cultural difference and accept that I only include a part of my name in the application, assuming that the rest of my names are actually extra information that would not necessarily be there if I were from another part of the world?
Thanks for your help
