Hi Everyone,

I need to translate my marriage certificate into English and I have got some confusion about it.

Here are some lines taken from the instruction guide for applications under the FSWP:

Translation of documents

Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:
** the English or French translation; and
** an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
** a certified copy of the original document.

While it is obvious from the explicit wording above that a copy of the original document (in my native language) is required to be certified, what about the translated version or the affidavit itself? I mean, do I also need to submit a certified copy of the English version and a certified copy of the affidavit? Or, should I submit the original English version and the original affidavit, along with a certified copy of the non-English version?

I would appreciate feedback from anyone who is well ahead of me and has successfully done so. Thanks.

hello,

i think you did not read my post all the way. my post was not about translating anything into French. in fact, the first line says it all. English translation is required.

anyway, please remove your post. it is diverting the focus from the subject-matter. thanks for your attempt to help.

You do the following for each document:
1. Attest the originals from the concerned issuing authority of the document (e.g., municipality, ministry of health, ministry of education, etc..).
2. Attest the above from your ministry of foreign affairs.
3. You get it translated from an authorized/licensed translation or attorney office.
4. Attest the translation from the body governing the translation agent (chamber of commerce, ministry of justice, or ministry of commerce, etc.).

Sir

See "Blue Highlighted" section of your post.
I have suggested as per that , that I feel is the requirement / instruction from Visa Office.
Friend You need to have a certified translation , so that your time is not wasted by Visa officer in un-necessary reviews etc..

Stay Blessed - Ameen
