Hey guys, I'm having a hard time obtaining a job. My post-graduate work permit expires in 9 months and prospect employers are reluctant to hire me as they are afraid they need to sponsor me, even though I have explained them I only need a support letter for the MPNP. I have a good chance on getting my PR through Manitoba Provincial Nominee program, but I have to work 6 months before I do. I was wondering if I can just apply to the Federal Skilled Worker Program just to prove them that I'm already in the process of getting my permanent residence and if it gets rejected I'll just apply through MPNP.

if my application gets rejected under the FSWP, can I still apply to MPNP a few months later???

Yes - you can apply for MPNP if you are rejected by FSW.

How do you plan on proving you have applied for FSW? Right now it is taking around 4 months for applications to be opened, reviewed, and issues a file number (provided the minimum requirements required to apply are met). I think that at a minimum you would need to show a file number to prove to an employer that you have applied to immigrate.
