Hi, I am in Canada for last 20 months on temporary work permit as IT worker. I wish to apply for Canadian immigration but I am in a fix whether to apply under Federal Skilled Category 3 (FSW 3) or wait for another 4 months and then apply under Canadian Experience Class(CEC). My work permit expired in Mar'10 and that's when WP extension was applied, but I have not received any update on it yet. I might be asked to move back to my home country(India) by my employer by Sep'10. What all options do I have to file for Canadian immigration from within Canada? I believe I cannot do anything until my extended work permit arrives.
a. Is there any processing time difference between FSW3 and CEC?
b. If I complete my 2 years here and then return back to India, can I still apply under CEC from there?
c. If my extended work permit does not arrive by Sep'10 and I am sent back to India, will I be still eigible to apply under CEC?
d. If I apply under FSW3 after my stay of 22 months in Canada will my application be considered under CEC after 2 months i.e. when I complete 24 months?
I guess I have too many questions. Any help would be much appreciated.
