Hello,
I applied for PR under FSW and my application was received at the Delhi office on March 19, 2008. I was informed that the Delhi office started processing my application on April 3, 2008. Based on my job experience, I got my NOC updated (within 38 list) at the Delhi office in January 2009. I was then informed that my application was transfered to the Sydney, Nova Scotia - C-50 office on March 2, 2009. I attempted IELTS proactively and submitted my scores to CIC in August 2009.

In October 2009, I received an HRDC-approved AEO from my potential employer and I submitted the same to Nova Scotia office. The status of my application shows 'Application Received' -The Sydney, Nova Scotia - C-50 office may contact you. This status has been the same since April 2009.

Here's what advice I need:
1) Am I justified in being a little concerned that we haven't heard anything from CIC yet.
2) Typically, how long before submitting an AEO do we hear a response from CIC?
3) Since there is no way of contacting and inquiring anything from CIC, should I order CAIPS (my potential employer is willing to help me obtain those)- Delhi office does not have the answers I need
4) Is there anyone else in a similar position? What do you suggest I do?

Thanks for your inputs. Your responses will help settle my mind and keep me motivated!

Yes you are but I would like you to tell more about your case. You earlier were eligible for 38 Ministerial list then you filled and submitted AEO correct me if I am wrong.
2) Typically, how long before submitting an AEO do we hear a response from CIC?
Its given the 1st priority, its strange you have not heard from them. May be as you initially filled on 38 list then you submitted AEO as they have different categories under FSW also FSW-1,2 and 3
3) Since there is no way of contacting and inquiring anything from CIC, should I order CAIPS (my potential employer is willing to help me obtain those)- Delhi office does not have the answers I need
Yes you can ask your employer to do so. Visit how to order caips on this forum only and you will get all the information. It cost only 5 USD if a Canadian or PR Canada orders in on your behalf
4) Is there anyone else in a similar position? What do you suggest I do?
I would suggest you search the blog with AEO as keyword and try and find that out

Hope this information might help you a little. Best of luck

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I filed my application in the 38 list post 27 Feb 2008. This year in August 2009, I proactively submitted by IELTS score. Then, in October 2009, I received an AEO and submitted the same to Nova Scotia. I was hoping that after submitting my AEO, the application would show some progress. However, nothing has happened since I submitted my simplified application in Feb 2008.

I sent an email inquiry to New Delhi office but received a templatized response saying my application was transfered to Nova Scotia in March 2009 and I should wait to hear from them.

Ok. Well what has happend is that earlier Nova Scotia might have coded your application or would have been in process of coding it in FSW-1 which is for applicants applying under the 38 rule and transfered it to Local visa office during the 3 months period but then you updated it with AEO then Nova Scotia would have pulled it back or asked local visa office to keep it on hold since you updated it with a AEO. Now Nova scotia is tagging it or Tagged it with FSW-3 which is for applicants applying with AEO which is always given more priority.

Have your received a file number yet or not from Nova Scotia ?

Since you have applied under simplified application process its a slow process, but tell me what is the status online if you have received a file number. The information which I have provided you is for applicants who have applied under fast track program. Earlier you said that you applied in Aug 09 then update CPC NS with AEO in Oct 09 then how can you apply under simplified application process ?

I am sorry if I didn't use the correct lingo but I submitted my application with 38 NOC code list post 27 Feb 2008 to New Delhi office.
I received a file number from the New Delhi office. It starts with B.

My e-case status was updated when New Delhi sent my application to Nova Scotia in March 2009.
However, since then there is no news/update other than 'Application Received'.
I updated my application with IELTS Score in Aug 2009 and then AEO in October 2009.
So, technically, I am in the fast-track system but it will be 2 years in Feb 2010 but with no movement!

Then Nova Scotia have to forward your file with AEO and 38 list under FSW-3 I think in Jan 2010 you should see some movement.
