Any idea if kids can get admission in mid of the year there. Indian school terms end in March here.

Hi Ummi

Congratulations first of all.
For new immigrants, Canada offers a very good facility. Your child will get admission anytime of the year, to the school near to your home. Even if only one week is left for session to end, schools will give admission to your child. I am writing this because I have checked this with one of my friends who moved to Calgary 2 years back and school admitted his child just 1 month before the end of the session.

I hope Ontario schools also accept the child in mid of the year.
Any suggestion what we should carry from UAE as i heard stuff is much cheaper here compare to Canada.

Definitely, they will accept your child's admission.
My Cost benefit analysis (CBA) is still pending for shipping goods from UAE to Canada. But in my personal view, don't carry the stuff with you, that you will feel burdened later on. Step by step you will rise in Canada. But still if you have any relatives/friends there, who can help you find the accommodation before hand, you can ask their help. Moreover, Job market in Toronto is now showing signs of easy jobs. Many people from Toronto are moving to Alberta to get good jobs. One of my friends (IT Industry), is still looking for a job from the last 4 months. But ultimately its all fate what I believe. I wish you good luck.
Its purely my personal view.
Views from other members are awaited.

Cheapest and best options for Toronto from UAE (Dubai or Abu dhabi) is either saudi airlines via Riyadh or jeddah. other best option is Egypt air via Cairo.
one of the members on same blog recommended and appreciated the service of Egypt air from dxb to Toronto.

try cleartrip.ae from best rates. i have taken KLM last year Dxb Toronto in 1000$.

Planning to dispose everything except for laptops and we bought latest smartphones for they said electronics are expensive compared here in UAE.

Hi,

$ are consideration, avoid 'non-stop' flights. They obviously are costlier. Many People prefer Dubai to Calgary/Toronto via Heathrow (UK). Please checkout the current rates on cleartrip.com and you can do the permutations and combinations.
I will also suggest you one more thing, before booking ticket , Please check with airlines the baggage they are allowing. Different airlines have different baggage allowance.
Moreover, If you want to ship your goods, then I can tell u the approx cost : for 1cubic mt = 2500/-AED (You can send upto 10 cartons), and if you want to send other big stuff like beds and furniture, u may require 5CM that will cost you approx 5,000/-aed. I got this information from one of my friends who is also moving in feb to Toronto via Itihad airlines.
