FSW, Living in Ontario while Working in Quebec

Sorry for bumping into an old thread, but i would be very interested in knowing what happened further in this case. I (as well as a couple other friends) are in similar situation. We work for a Quebec based company, with offices in Montreal and Gatineau and in all honesty, learning french is a pain and we wish to avoid that if possible.
Most of the people working in our Gatineau office live in Ottawa. For those who don't know - these cities are just a bridge across. For most of the people, commute from their homes in Ottawa is actually far less than what i do from home to work in Montreal.
Any suggestions? How did it go for you guys? FSW or CEC?
If it helps to know, we have closed work permits. So technically living outside of Quebec is not an option UNLESS we have a PR i.e. trying to live in Ottawa would probably not get us health cards while being on work permits.
