Is a couple of months ok, or is that pushing it?

I think that would be pushing it. Can't remember now where it is written but try a search for continuity of employment on forum and in OP FSW Manual. I think they are looking at days to week(s). More or less leaving one job and having an offer to start the next one. Good luck.

It was OP Bulletin 173 I was thinking of. It is dated 2010 so it may have updates.

Hi guys,
I need to clarify on two things .
If we have a gap of 4 months between the end of studies and the beginning of job so would that be ok and if otherwise how to explain /show the reason for this
Futhermore ,gap in between job of 2 months for spouse ,would it have an effect too .
Please advice

thanks

The only thing that needs to have absolutely no gap is in your personal history in the form. Simply write unemployed or vacationing or whatever you were doing in the gap. That's all. Gap in spouse's job or even yours does not matter as long as it is mentioned in the employment history and is accounted for in the personal history. The only case where the gap in employment might be important is when you have to fulfill the minimum one year of CONTINUOUS, full-time paid employment in your chosen NOC.
