Hello All,

My wife and I applied for PR (FSW) in November 2007 and the application was received in January of 2008 and we obtained a file number. Although we applied to PR first we had already explored studying in Canada. In was the same January that I was accepted to two universities. My study permit came through in March and we traveled to Canada the same month. My wife was able to apply for a work permit for the same period that my study permit was granted, which was 2 years. We spent almost all of the 2 years in Canada studying and working.

What I want to know now is recently, our online status for PR changed from "In Process" to being blank. What does this mean? Also, one can see it has been over three years since our file was received (even though the recommended processing is 3-4 years), since were in the system for close to 2 years if there is anything we can do to speed up the process (i.e. living, studying, working in Canada).

Recently the online eCas status encountered a problem due to computer glitch, but now it seems ok.

I dont think that you can do something to expedite the pocessing of your application. VO has their own timelines. Many waiting for years, some of them since 2004

However if your NOC category falls in the current high demand 29 cat list, you can apply and your case will be finalized within a year or less. You can run 2 applicatons in parallel and when any one application becomes sucessful, you can withdraw the next one.

Agreed. But, even processing of new apps will take time, depending on your VO. London takes longer period to 24 months, while Moscow is less than 10 months, for instance.

So I can re-apply with a current one pending? I agree that it might still take longer. What does one have to do to be in the Canadian Experience Class. When I was applying I never saw this on CIC's website.

Yes, you can file another application as long as you are eligible. Don't submit an application unless you make yourself well informed aboutthe whole process, its requirements, documents,...etc. Check the link in my signature for important links and readings for your application.

On my eCas there has been an update.

We received your application for permanent residence on November XX, 2007.

We started processing your application on January XX, 2008.

Medical results have been received.
Does this mean, at this stage, that processing is close to an end?

Hi,

To answer your question, processing of your application may or may not be near completion. Consider that many applications that were filed before February 2008 are processed in upwards of 48 months. You may refer to processing times in the CIC website.

But wait , when were you requested to do medicals? Were medicals done in Canada and how long before results were acknowledge by the local visa office.

Cheers!

Medicals were done in Canada. But I do not know when they were acknowledged local VO since my eCas was showing a blank.

Hello Everyone,
Pls can anyone help!!!! I will like to know at what point after the receipt of the first PER is one expected to send the Police clearance certificates to the Visa Office.
Or do we have wait till the VO request for it.

Yes. You need to wait till the VO requests them. The problem here is that getting the PCC from some coountries could be time consuming, and on the same time, the VO requires that these PCC to be recent and not older than three months, hence, I would suggest the following:

1- If you know that your PCC can be issued quickly once requested,i.e within 10-14 days, then wait the VO request.

2- if not, then, I suggest you get them issued now, and send them immediately to your VO.

Good luck
