Wich would be the best state or process to go if I would like to request a temporary student visa, and after finishing the study, request the permanent visa. I live in the Dominica Republic.

Canada has a number of different immigration processes each with its own requirements. You'll need to research them to see what it takes to qualify. Detailed info here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp

One way would be to take a full time 2 year program in Canada and obtain an 3 year PGWP. Once you have worked for a year in a skilled profession - you could then apply under the CEC program. Whether you are selected, would depend on the number of overall points you have.

Again, you'll need to do some research to understand Canada's immigration streams.

Hi Scylla, I see you are an advanced user & have seen you in multiple threads.

I have a similar question if you can help me out. My Wife would be flying Canada on a student visa. I am an Accountant by profession & has an experience of 6 years working in Australia. I'll certainly try to find work in my profession, being a spouse of someone on student visa, can I be switched on work visa if any company happens to offer such assistance ?

You can apply for an open work permit based on your wife's study permit. Suggestion you research open work permits on the CIC web site.
