Hi Folks,

Apologies if I'm repeating the question but i did try to get comments on this in a existing topic.

I'm sure this question haunts everyone who is willing to immigrate to a foreign country.

Can the folks who have migrated to Canada from India kindly throw some light on the below. I'm sure it would be helpful for all the aspiring immigrants.

1. How easy it is for a skilled IT professional (especially somebody having .net experience) to find a job in IT in Canada?
2. How do you find the work culture in Canada compared to that in India?
3. To get a job in Canada, do we need to be physically there or employers are willing to take interviews on skype?
4. How tough are the interviews?
5. Does it make sense to land in Canada and then start job search?
6. Is Canada a place where you are willing to spend your life after retirement?
7. Did you consider NZ/Aus too when you were looking for immigration options? If so what made you choose CA?

Thank you in advance!

Thanks.

1. Check out indeed.ca with your skill set, you will get an idea. If you are sound technically you should be fine.
2. Depends from organization, compared to India less stress. My stress comes from dealing with our offshore team......;)
3. In person is the norm here. Skype or telephone might be good for initial interviews, final is always on site.
4. Again depends, but in general nothing compared to Indian company interviews.
5. Get a Canadian phone number and address, start applying. Once you have few interviews lined up, come to Canada.
6. Depends, all the well to do people here own some kind of property, house, condo south of border. Places like California, Arizona, Texas, Florida are very popular. So they spend most of the time down south after retirement. Others do spend retirement here, no option to avoid snow.
7. No idea about NZ/Aus. I chose Canada, because US is nearby.
