I am a Canadian citizen, and five years ago I spent a year living in a remote village in Guatemala. I returned to Canada when I was 3 months pregnant in order to have my baby here. I am now wanting to bring his father (who I have remained in contact with) here to visit. I live on government disability benefits, and as far as I know he doesn't have a steady job. When I was there he would take jobs he could find doing painting, cutting grass, etc, with most of his money coming from his mom who lives in North Carolina.

Does anyone know if, based on our financial situations alone, he wouldn't be able to come?
Is he eligible for the Super Visa if his son is a minor?
Does the fact that he doesn't speak English matter?
Is there anything else you think I should know/consider?

Thanks!

1. Probably not, as neither of you are in a position to support him, you have disability he has none or very little funds, and no job prospects in his home country.
2. No, not until the son is 18 and has worked for a year to meet the LICO.
3. No.

Thanks!
